Why does WorkMail not sign-in on iOS?

Good day

I have difficulty signing in to my WorkMail via Microsoft Exchange and IMAP on Apple iOS. I've tried using the specified settings according to the below article for US-east with no success.

Hi,

I'm sorry to hear you're experiencing problems with configuring your account on a IOS device. For the Exchange configuration to work you can used a .awsapps.com email address. this does mean that your user needs a email alias with that domain configured. After adding a email alias with .awsapps.com you can use that to create a Exchange account. The account will use the primary email address for sending mail.
