Transferring AWS assets to another account

Hi Konstantin,

It isn't possible to transfer all assets of an AWS account under control of a different AWS account, however depending on the resources it may be possible to migrate resources to another account.

While we in the Accounts & Billing department are not trained to assist with technical processes such as transferring resources from one account to another, I've located the following documentation about the process which may help.

If you're using EC2, you can try launching custom EC2 instances from another account that match your currently running instance configurations. You can do this by creating custom AMIs and sharing them across accounts. More information on that can be found here:

If you're using S3, it isn't possible to move your bucket to a different account, but if you need to move Amazon S3 objects from one bucket to another (owned by a different AWS account), you can use the S3 COPY operation.
