Latency seen in aurora mysql audit logging

Hi, I am connecting to aurora cluster(mysql) from my mule application and I see latency issues in getting response to my queries.

From advanced audit logging , I see there is latency (2 seconds)between READ operation and QUERY operation for my select query on the mule application.

Similarly, For my update query on the application I see latency(4 seconds) between WRITE and QUERY operation.

One more observation is that i see entries for set select_sql_limit in audit logs.

Can anyone please help me understand this latency reason and what ways to fix it.? Thanks.
