How to login into child AWS account if I have access to parent AWS account

Question

Our previous person responsible for the AWS developer has left the company. We have one parent account and five child accounts attached to it. I tried logging into them using user/login from the parent account, but it didn't work. The documentation wasn't clear on how to do this. Can you please help to understand how to receive access to child accounts?

I assume you are reffering to an Org?

If your using IAM and not Identity Centre, you will have to Assume a role in a child account if you do not have Local IAM users or Ident Centre setup...

What permissions do you have in the root account? If its admin, you most likely can assume the Org Role in another account if the role exists
