Oracle Linux 8 UEK availability

I'm looking to do some testing in EC2 on an OEL 8 [UEK] VM by importing an OVA from VMware. I see it's not currently on the supported list: https://docs.aws.amazon.com/vm-import/latest/userguide/prerequisites.html

• Does anyone know if support will be added in the future (does anyone know when)?
• And does anyone know the reason why it's not supported please.
• I've seen this as an alternative: https://aws.amazon.com/marketplace/pp/prodview-fxjjedym32gky But I'd like a customised OS if possible.
