Compact Health notifications via ChatOps

0

Hi

With the following EventBridge rule:

{
    source         = ["aws.health"]
    detail-type = ["AWS Health Event"]
}

and ChatOps connected to a Slack channel I'm receiving quite a lot of operational notification alerts for public Health events.

Can you think of an easy way to compact these to make it less distractive as in most cases these public events are not relevant to me, but still I would prefer to receive these? Maybe there is a way to only display the first event for any public incident and then aggregate all the follow-up notifications under Slack thread. That would be a huge improvement, because if any Operation People needed to observe how the incident is progressing they would simply watch or observe the slack thread.

If that is not possible, is there any way I could ignore/filter-out all follow-up alerts, and only pass through the first one?

Generally the ChatOps service has a great potential but needs some more work I think.
