ec2 instance is unable to ping google.com

i have an instance in public subnet , with routes pointing to igw , we have outbound rules open as well. we cannot ping to any public ip's & traceroute gies nowhere!

[ec2-user@ip- ~]$ traceroute google.com traceroute to google.com (172.253.115.102), 30 hops max, 60 byte packets 1 * * * 2 * * * 3 * * * 4 * * * 5 * * * 6 * * * 7 * * *

Hi, this is Abhi from AWS. If you have ensure that the instance in question has a public IP address, is in a public subnet, and in a subnet with a default route via IGW, I would recommend reviewing this post to troubleshoot connectivity issues.

Thanks Abhi, i figured the instance did not have a EIP or public ip , afetr adding one , we are able to communicate.
