Lambda Alias with DynamoDB Streams

0

My customer is using Lambda alias to differentiate between STAGE and PRD and this is working fine. They also want to use DynamoDB streams to Lambda, but there doesn’t seem to an option to use a specific alias/version of the Lambda function with DynamoDB Streams. If this is possible, can someone point me in the right direction please? If not, any suggestions on workarounds?

The DynamoDB dashboard currently doesn’t allow to select aliases for Lambda functions. However, you can do it from the Lambda dashboard in the web console by selecting the PROD/STAGE alias for the function first, then go to triggers.

As an alternative, you can use the CLI create-event-source-mapping function for Lambda. See: http://docs.aws.amazon.com/lambda/latest/dg/with-ddb-configure-ddb.html Caution: use the full Lambda function ARN followed by :PROD or :STAGE as function-name parameter, instead of the simple function name shown in the example.
