Is there a specific requirement to use AWS Rekognition? This is a perfect use case for AWS textract AnalyzeExpense API, which would recognize different fonts, font sizes and specifically numbers.
It is possible in the Textract console to try the AnalyzeExpense API to see if it meets your needs. Also there is a great blog on extracting data from invoices that will go in greater detail with cloudformation to deploy the stack here: Announcing specialized support for extracting data from invoices and receipts using Amazon Textract.
