Unable to create the application version

1

Currently when I try to create a new Elastic Beanstalk application version, I receive an "Unable to create the application version:" error message. Other questions/answers seem to include a qualification after that error message, but I don't see anything with instructions to follow or correct on my account.

I have tried to upload the application to different computers, on different days, and different browsers from the Application Versions page, and directly to the Elastic Beanstalk environment with both reporting the same error.

Anyone else have this error, or know a potential fix?

Thank you, Nathan.

  • I am also getting the same error - googling seems to suggest it could be an issue with having too many older application versions (500 is the limit), but I have deleted more than 5 older versions and am still getting the error.

  • I was able to deploy my app using code pipeline - I know it's not a proper solution but it unblocks me for the time being in my own work

  • Thanks for the tip.

I've tried different browsers, different computers, clearing cookies and local storage, non worked. I already had auto clearing of older version (15) set, but cleaned up all but the last 10 to ensure AWS S3 had "free" space to upload the new application version.

Using the web dev toolbar, I was able to see that part of the way through the upload AWS started returning a lot of 401 error messages.

I'll take a look at your work around for deploying using the code pipeline instead of from Elastic Beanstalk.

    Thanks.

  • I have the same problem. When I upload my code with an application file the log states ModuleNotFoundError: No module named 'application'

Looks like AWS has fixed whatever the issue was on the back-end.
