When attempting to execute AWS CLI command for elasticbeanstalk DescribeEnvironmentHealth in us-east-1 i get the follow error

An error occurred (InvalidRequestException) when calling the DescribeEnvironmentHealth operation: DescribeEnvironmentHealth is not supported.

here is the command used in us-east-1 region

aws elasticbeanstalk describe-environment-health --environment-name **** --attribute-names All --region us-east-1

The same command with EB instance that exist in us-west-2 works.

aws elasticbeanstalk describe-environment-health --environment-name **** --attribute-names All --region us-west-2

Hello there,

The reason for the error "An error occurred (InvalidRequestException) when calling the DescribeEnvironmentHealth operation: DescribeEnvironmentHealth is not supported." is that the DescribeEnvironmentHealth call is only available for environments configured with enhanced health reporting. This also explains why the other environment in us-west-2 worked because it must have been configured with enhanced health.

For basic health reporting, you can return the environment health status by using the describe-environments CLI command.
