I want to point my domain in route 53 to another domain that is also in route 53

I thought it would be easier, but it seems complicated to get this done. I have a Route 53 domain and want to point it to another Route 53 domain. Someone told me that cname is the quickest way, but it doesn't work. Can someone help me with this?

  • Could you be (a lot) more specific about what you are trying to do? The domain names don't matter, but "point to another domain" is not really explaining the problem you're trying to solve.

  • Yes, more information would help

Amazon Route 53 can point a domain name to another domain name using a CNAME record or Route 53 alias record. If you have any specific problem please share. That would be help perfect solution .

  • Ok, it's still not working, but that is the back story. I had a domain in Squarespace; I changed it to AWS. I created a DNS zone and then updated the records like name and even mx because my email is through Gmail. So far I have updated cname , mx. and its still not working.
