I confirmed what you said. As you said, the report icon in the top menu is disappearing.
In July 2022, QuickSight User Interface was renewed. https://aws.amazon.com/blogs/big-data/introducing-new-dashboard-experience-on-amazon-quicksight/
Probably, Document should be updated. You can discuss with QuickSight Community.
