Need help understanding cost explorer data for vpc usage increase

0

Hello, I'm in Cost Explorer and I see that in February and March, the VPC section had an increase.

I'm not sure if it's because something exited the free tier or if it's something we moved.

Is there a way to dive deeper? In other words, to know exactly which VPC is causing this.

In case it was due to exiting the free tier, is there any section where I can see the notification?

It could be that your account exited from Free Tier (if it became more than a year since the account was created), you can verify this by looking at your current Free Tier entitlements here https://console.aws.amazon.com/billing/home#/freetier

It could be equally likely to be because public IPv4 addresses became chargeable https://aws.amazon.com/blogs/aws/new-aws-public-ipv4-address-charge-public-ip-insights/

0.5c/hour = 12c/day = $3.48 for each public IPv4 address throughout the 29 days of February, and $3.72 for each public IPv4 address in March.

By the looks of the size of the bars in the chart above, your account would have about 13 or 14 public IPv4 addresses, does that sound right?

You can see more detail if you select "Usage Type" under Group By.
