There are a few potential reasons why the Quicksight alerts you created are getting turned off automatically:
-
Alert thresholds are being exceeded - If the alert conditions are constantly exceeded, Quicksight will automatically disable the alert to prevent alert fatigue. Check your alert thresholds.
-
Permissions issue - The user or role may not have permissions to create/manage alerts. Check the IAM permissions.
-
Alerts time window expired - Alerts have a default expiry time window of 30 days. You may need to re-create or renew the alerts.
-
Alerts disabled in dashboard settings - Check if alerts got disabled at the dashboard level settings. They need to be on.
-
Subscription list changed - If the subscriber list for the alert is modified, it can turn off the alert. Verify subscribers.
-
Accidental changes - Someone with edit access may have inadvertently modified the alert settings. Review audit logs.
So in summary, the common things to check are alert thresholds, permissions, expiry windows, dashboard settings, subscriber list and audit trails. It's likely one of these factors is causing the alerts to turn off automatically. I'd recommend going through each systematically to identify the cause. Let me know if the alerts continue to turn off so we can troubleshoot further!
