DynamoDB Global tables do not support stream filtering.

Is it true that DynamoDB global tables do not support stream filtering? This is according to comments here https://dev.to/aws-builders/new-dynamodb-streams-filtering-in-serverless-framework-3lc5 . If true, when do you expect to support this? This is a really crucial issue as we recently started using Global Tables and this feature is a must for us.

Currently DynamoDB does not support Stream Filters for Global Tables, that is, Global Tables have to be direct replicas of each other and you cannot filter which data is replicated.

The feature you mention is on the Lambda side, specifically on the Event Source Mapping. This mapping is used on your Lambda consumers to map to your DynamoDB Stream. Regardless if the table is a Global Table or not, this filtering will still work if you have a Lambda consuming from your DynamoDB Stream.

I hope that clears up your question.
