At the moment, you cannot modify the number of retries by a %magic command. The only way is the following work around:
- Open the Jobs(Legacy) console.
- Select the notebook job whose configuration you want to modify.
- Click 'Action' and then 'Edit job'.
- Next click on "Security configuration, script libraries, and job parameters (optional)'.
- Modify the parameters as required and then 'Save'.
