Route53 Hosted Zone is taking too much time

0

I have registered a domain using Route53, and approximately 7 months later, I created a new hosted zone for the same domain. However, it has been over 48 hours, and my NS (Name Server) records and other DNS records have not fully propagated. Consequently, the email hosting service is unable to detect the MX records within the associated DNS zone. To validate my records, I am utilizing https://zohomail.tools/#domainDetails/sifticle.com/NS.

I do not currently possess access to AWS support. While I understand that DNS propagation can be a time-consuming process, it is unusual for it to extend beyond a period of four days. I cannot definitively identify any issues with the domain, but I can confirm that the domain is active, registered with Route53, and currently managed within my AWS console account.

Any help will be appreciated.

Thank you for the details. Through whois query it looks like your domain is registered with Amazon Registrar, with the active NS as below:

Name Server: NS-493.AWSDNS-61.COM
Name Server: NS-893.AWSDNS-47.NET
Name Server: NS-1103.AWSDNS-09.ORG
Name Server: NS-1936.AWSDNS-50.CO.UK

Please help to check if these records match those listed in your newly created hosted zone.

  • Check the listed NS records following the steps here
  • If the records are inconsistent, please update it following the steps here

If the issue persists, please feel free to provide additional information for further analysis. Thank you!

  • I greatly appreciate your help. The issue was related to the name servers, and I resolved it by manually copying the name servers from the hosted zone to the ones associated with the domain. Nevertheless, it does raise some curiosity as to why Route53 didn't update them automatically when the new hosted zone was established.
