Patch host in a sequence

Hi all,

I have 6 hosts in a patch group that I need to patch in a certain sequence, what I would like to do is, e.g. , first do instance1, then 2, then 3, then 6 then 5 then 4, is this possible and if so, how must it be configured?

Hi,
Usually to patch instances in a sequence, some mechanism of orchestration is needed. A good solution within AWS Systems Manger is SSM Automation. You can create a Document of type Automation ( now referred to as a Runbook) to run the patch document (AWS-RunPatchBaseline) on each of your 6 instances one at a time in certain order.
