That’s seems about right - must be an old interface that was being referred to in the videos and the the Amazon guide pages.
I can see that opening the file has all the information but presented as a full new page. Must admit I prefer the pop-up.
But that doesn’t explain buckets and folders - in the old interface checking a bucket or a folder would bring up the properties for that bucket or folder - but in the new interface I can’t see any way of bringing up that information. If I click on the bucket it just opens to show a folder and file view - the same thing if I click on a folder
Hi,
You would get the Object Overview when you click on the name of the file in S3 and not when you select it in the check box on the left. Also it's not exactly a popup now but a new page is loaded showing you the details. S3 interface has undergone some changes over a period of time. I guess the older interface had a popup.

AWS periodically updates and releases new versions of the AWS Management Console, at times with new features, and improvements.
If you are not seeing the object overview pop-up as demonstrated in the videos you are watching, it's possible that the version of the AWS Management Console you are using might not have that particular feature implemented or it might be presented differently.
Using the most recent version of the AWS Management Console, to find the object overview:
- Browse or search for the object within the bucket that you want to view the object overview for.
- Click on the on object’s name, this will load a new page.
- On the new page look for the Properties tab, under the tab you will see the object overview.
When you select a bucket or the folder (ie. click on the name of bucket or folder), you would find a Properties tab. Clicking on that provides you with Bucket Overview / Folder Overview
