I received the error message "Please contact customer service, your account is in an invalid state" when I tried to use my AWS account to access services.

Resolution

Your account can take up to 24 hours to fully activate. If you recently created your account, then wait a few more hours before you try to access your account again.

If you created your account more than 24 hours ago, then check the inbox for the email address that's associated with your root user account. Occasionally, AWS sends an email to request additional documents or verification steps to fully activate your account. If you continue to receive the error message, then create a case with AWS Support, and choose Account and billing support.
