Does AWS charge US sales tax?

AWS charges US sales tax for certain AWS services where applicable. For information about AWS US sales tax policies and practices, see Tax help - United States.

If you're tax exempt in a particular state, then you must provide a valid copy of your tax exemption certificate. Open a case in the Support Center. Then, select Add attachment to attach an electronic copy of your tax exemption certificate.

The tax certificate must meet the following requirements:

• It must be addressed to Amazon Web Services, Inc.
• It must be signed and dated.
• The name on the certificate must match the company name on the AWS account.
• The state or jurisdiction of the account's tax address must match the certificate.
