I want to resolve private marketplace eligibility errors when I access models on Amazon Bedrock.

Resolution

You get the "Unauthorized to perform action due to private marketplace eligibility" error when either of the following are true:

  • Your AWS Identity and Access Management (IAM) user or role isn't associated with a private marketplace experience.
    -or-
  • You haven't created a private marketplace experience for Amazon Bedrock products.

Verify that you have the required permissions to access the private marketplace

To check that your IAM user or role has the necessary permissions, complete the following steps:

  1. Log in to Private Marketplace service. If you have the necessary permissions, you can access and modify the contents of the portal.
  2. From the left navigation panel, choose Experiences. The page lists the active experiences associated with your account.
  3. Verify that your IAM user or role is associated with the appropriate private marketplace experience.
Note: Private marketplace experiences can be associated with the entire organization, specific organization units (OUs), or specific accounts.
  4. If you don't have the necessary permissions to access the private marketplace and add products, contact your administrator.

Create a private marketplace experience

To create a private marketplace experience for Amazon Bedrock products, complete the following steps:

  1. Create a private marketplace experience.
  2. Associate the newly created experience with an entire organization, specific organization units (OUs), or specific accounts.
  3. Add your Amazon Bedrock products or offerings, such as Anthropic Claude, to the private marketplace experience.
