How do I increase the service quota of my Amazon EC2 resources?

2 minute read

I want to increase the service quota of my Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud (Amazon EC2) resources.

Short description

To request an increase to your Amazon EC2 service quotas, use one of the following methods:

  • AWS Support console
  • Service Quotas console

AWS Support console

Complete the following steps:

  1. Open the AWS Support console.
  2. On the Service quota increase page, request your quota increase.
Note: Make sure that you request service quota increases in each AWS Region that you need more resources. Amazon EC2 service quotas affect one Region at a time.
  3. (Optional) To request multiple service quota increases at the same time, complete one quota increase request in the Requests section, and then choose Add another request.

Service Quotas console

Complete the following steps:

  1. Open the Service Quotas console.
  2. Choose Amazon EC2.
  3. Choose the service quota.
  4. Choose Request quota increase.

Note: To make sure that you have enough quotas to support your usage requirements, it's a best practice to monitor and manage your service quotas. Requests for Amazon EC2 service quota increases are subject to review by AWS engineering teams. Also, service quota increase requests aren't immediately processed when you submit a request. After your request is processed, you receive an email notification.
