I want to increase or decrease my Amazon Simple Email Service (SES) quotas.
Resolution
Prerequisites: Verify your domain. If your AWS account is in the sandbox environment, then request production access.
Note: Amazon SES reviews production access requests to verify that Amazon SES sends only authorized emails. When you submit your production access request, describe your request with as much detail as possible .
Modify your sending quota
To increase your sending quota, see Increasing your Amazon SES sending quotas.
To decrease your Amazon SES quota, follow the process to open a quota request. When you submit your request, specify that you want to lower your quota.
Note: You can't request an increase for the total size of your messages. If you use the SESv1 API, then the limit on your quota is 10 MB after Amazon SES encodes Multipurpose Internet Mail Extensions (MIME). If you use SESv2 API or Simple Mail Transfer Protocol (SMTP), then the limit on your quota is 40 MB after Amazon SES encodes MIME.
It's a best practice to monitor your sending activity, bounces, and complaints. For more information, see the Amazon SES Developer Guide.
