I want to add or update my tax registration number (TRN) or business legal address on my AWS account.
Short description
You can update your TRN in the AWS Billing and Cost Management console. On the Tax Settings page, you can find your business legal address and TRN information, such as VAT number, VAT ID, GSTIN, or VAT registration number. If you're signed in as the payer account of an organization, then you can view and edit the tax registration numbers for all linked accounts.
AWS uses your TRN to determine the account's tax jurisdiction. If there's no TRN, or your country isn't available in the Tax Settings page, then AWS uses the following account information to determine the jurisdiction:
If you're not sure which country to choose for these fields, then consult your tax advisor.
If you're in Europe and receive special status or relief from VAT, then contact AWS Support. Attach applicable certificates that the tax authorities in your country issue. If you don't have a certificate, then provide information about your special status or relief in your case. Include specific sections of tax legislation that are applicable to your organization.
If you're in the United States, then see Does AWS charge US sales tax?
You can turn on tax settings inheritance to use your tax registration information for linked accounts in your organization.
