How do I optimize costs in WorkSpaces?

It's a best practice to use the WorkSpaces Cost Optimizer tool to optimize your WorkSpaces costs.

To optimize costs without the tool, take the following actions.

Use CloudWatch metrics

Use Amazon CloudWatch to check the UserConnected metric for the usage hours of your WorkSpaces. Then, update the running mode for each WorkSpace to match its use.

Update your WorkSpace configurations

If you don't need high-performing resources, then switch to a smaller bundle, such as Standard or Value. Also, use the smallest storage size that's available to your WorkSpace. You can increase storage, but you can't decrease it.
