Having trouble opening port 22102

I made a new security group even through the create button on the page of the instance I want it attached to, and the new ones never showed up, so I edited the default security group to make two inbound rules one for custom udp another for custom tcp set the port to 22102 on both and the source custom set to 0.0.0.0/0, and even then when I go to check if either ports or open they arent

Be sure to save the security group/rules

  • I have saved the rules and also went back multiple times to check they saved

What tool are you using to check the ports? And as well as the security groups check that there isn't a host-based firewall in which the ports need to be opened - this could be Windows Firewall on Windows, ufw on Ubuntu, firewalld on RHEL, and so on.
