But there is nothing on how to set the retained flag in the documentation about IPC communication.

The Greengrass IPC doesn’t support sending of MQTT retained messages at this time, but I recommend checking out a different solution like Shadow: https://docs.aws.amazon.com/greengrass/v2/developerguide/ipc-local-shadows.html
