Hello.

In Amazon Redshift, the svl_user_info is a system view that provides details about user sessions on the database. If you're encountering permission errors when trying to access this view, it typically indicates insufficient permissions.

Here are the steps to address the issue:

  • Superuser Access: First, ensure you truly have superuser access. Superusers in Redshift should have access to all tables and views. If you're logged in as a superuser and still facing this issue, there might be an unexpected configuration or a Redshift bug.

  • GRANT Permissions: If you're not a superuser or want to grant another user access to the svl_user_info view, you can provide the necessary permissions using the following SQL command:

GRANT SELECT ON svl_user_info TO [username];

Hi Venkat,

Are you using a Redshift provisioned cluster or a Redshift serverless endpoint?

SVL_USER_INFO is a system view that can be queried on provisioned clusters only.

You can use SVV_USER_INFO instead.
