RDS SQL Server assessments

Question

Hi team,

I ran the SQL server assessment report and in the report, TDE and Full-text are mentioned as not supported in RDS SQL Server but I think TDE is supported by SQL server 2019. May I know why the SCT report came with TDE not supported?.  is something missing from my side.

Answer

RDS also Support for TDE in SQL Server.
but, it only can enable that feature by option group.
it means that SQL Server RDS not support TDE by default and also have some limitations.
so i think SCT can show not support it. 
because RDS SQL Server TDE is not support all features..
but, it can be available on a limited basis.
