Hi,
you are correct, it is not possible to extend the timeout of 8 seconds for invoking lambda functions associated with AW Connect, as also this guide shows in a screenshot: https://docs.aws.amazon.com/connect/latest/adminguide/invoke-lambda-function-block.html.
You could try to decrease lambda execution with mechanisms such as Snapstart (if Java based) or Provisioned concurrency.

Definitely look at how to speed up your Lambda. Remember that in telephony any pause grater than 5 seconds can confuse the caller and make them think the call hung up.
