AWS RedShift Serverless trial - accidently removed all permissions from my admin account

0

I seem to made a mistake and remove all IAM roles and permissions, which means I've lost complete control over my AWS RedShift. Is there anyway to recover it?

The root account in AWS has full access to all resources and cannot have its permissions revoked. If you have access to the AWS root account (the email address and password used to create the AWS account), you can log in with this account and restore the necessary permissions to your admin account or create a new IAM role with the required permissions.

If logging in with the root account is not an option, or if you need immediate assistance, you should contact AWS Support. Explain the situation in detail, and AWS Support can help you regain access to your Redshift Serverless resources. They can often restore permissions or guide you through the process of regaining access.

Even with a basic support plan, you can contact AWS Support for help with account or billing-related issues, which this falls under.

    1. This is exactly what the root account is used for. Contact the root owner to help you fix this if 2) below doesn't help.

    2. No idea what happened in your case. That said, if you still have access to your management console can you change the role to your admin role? See 3) below. If that doesn't work I know of no other solution other than 1) above

    3. I have enclosed a link that talks about this in case you haven't seen it. https://docs.aws.amazon.com/IAM/latest/UserGuide/id_roles_use_switch-role-console.html
