sagemaker canvas dataset auto update when is job history updated?

It appears that the job history is updated roughly 10 minutes after the scheduled run time. Is that normal? You simply see nothing for about 10 minutes? People just sit and cross their fingers hoping something is happening?

In Amazon SageMaker Canvas, the job history for automatic dataset updates is not updated in real-time. While the documentation doesn't specify an exact timeframe for when the job history is updated after an automatic update runs, there can be some delay.

Based on experience with similar SageMaker services like Ground Truth, updates to status information in the AWS Console can take approximately 5-10 minutes. This includes the time from when a job starts to when it appears in the interface, as well as the time for status changes to be reflected.

When viewing your automatic dataset update jobs, you can check the status in two places:

  1. On your dataset details page under the "Auto updates" tab in the "Job history" section
  2. In the "ML Ops" section of the left navigation pane, under the "Automations" tab and "All jobs" sub-tab

Each job will show information such as when it was created, the number of files and cells in the dataset, and the status (either "Ready" for successful updates or "Failed" for unsuccessful ones).

The delay you're experiencing of about 10 minutes before seeing updates in the job history is consistent with how AWS services typically handle status updates in the console interface.
