Testing connection from RDS

0

Hi

Do you know how to test connectivity from one RDS oracle database to another RDS oracle database under a different account? Both accounts have a transient gateway between them. There is no operating system access on both machines but only SQL access. I am trying to test TCP network connection before creating a DB link between the two.

Thanks,

Hi Sam.

Is there a reason you can't just create the DB link and test it? You can always delete it if it doesn't work.

Also, have you tried using VCP Reachability Analyzer? If not, I'd recommend you take a look at the following Blog post which explains in detail how to troubleshoot (test in your case) network connectivity to RDS databases.

I hope this helps.

You can create an EC2 instance from the source RDS subnet and perform testing on the instance using common Linux or Windows Tools, such as SQL Workbench/J.

  • Unfortunately I can not create another EC2 in same subnet to test connectivity. It requires reuest, approvals, security and most likely they wont approve. Is not there a way to do via SQL command in Oracle SQL Developer?
