MySQL RDS instance stuck rebooting status over 4 hours

Can anyone assist with this? Our RDS instance was unresponsive so we sent it for a reboot and it has been in a rebooting state for over 4 hours! Any suggestions?

I resolved this by making sure connections were 0 (manually had to restart services that may have connections) and roughly 20 mins later the reboot completed
