DNS Propogation seems to have stalled.

0

Recently I transferred over several domain names to AWS, verified my ownership of them set up the Hosted zones and updated the records for them. Specifically, for the one I am having the trouble with, I updated the NS records to reflect the info now assigned by amazon, and added an A record for a sub domain as well as several CNAME records. The issue I am having is that, for reasons unclear to me, this domains propagation seems to have stalled. To be clear on DNS checker I am receiving positive results for about half the map, but 13 remain, stubbornly, red x's and it has been well over 72 hours. Additionally with the dig command in terminal i am getting a SERVFAIL. This is in contrast to the other domain i moved over which did propagate. The fact that half the map has propagated successfully has me baffled as it suggests I set up the records correctly (otherwise you would expect 100% failure, right) but it is as if the system just stopped propagating. Oh and the TTL is set to between 10 and 5 minutes for the different records, so that shouldn't be the problem. If anyone can assist me in resolving this, it would be much appreciated. The domain address in question is sorcerism.com and the subdomain is db.sorcerism.com.

Hello.

I have also migrated a domain from another domain registrar to Route53 in the past, and I remember that it took a long time for the NS records to be propagated to all regions.
As stated in the documentation below, DNS resolvers typically request NS records once every two days.
Therefore, the timing may not be right and it may be taking a long time.

When you change the name servers for the domain to the name servers from your Route 53 hosted zone, it can take up to two days for the change to take effect and for Route 53 to become your DNS service. This is because DNS resolvers across the internet typically request the name servers only once every two days and cache the answer.

In some cases, there may have been some problem when transferring the domain, so I recommend that you open a case with AWS Support under "Account and Billing" and inquire.
Inquiries via "Account and Billing" can be made free of charge.
