EKS Anywhere Support

0

Hi - I'm looking for more information regarding the support model of EKS Anywhere. I know that infrastructure and application is managed by the customer (obviously) and the EKS Distro and the tools provided by AWS are supported by AWS. What about Kubernetes itself? For example, a customer will benefit of Kubernetes support? Is "Kubernetes Support" part of the EKS Distro support?

Thanks!

You can leverage support agreements with AWS for your Amazon EKS Anywhere cluster deployments and the integrated tools within, so you can reduce your support costs and avoid the maintenance of redundant open-source and third-party tools. Amazon EKS Distro will provide extended support for Kubernetes versions after community support expires, by updating builds of previous versions with the latest critical security patches. There are no upfront commitments or fees to use EKS Anywhere. AWS Enterprise Support is a pre-requisite for purchasing an Amazon EKS Anywhere Support Subscription. Pricing for EKS Anywhere Support Subscriptions follows a cluster-based model. Learn more about AWS Enterprise Support https://aws.amazon.com/premiumsupport/plans/enterprise/. • Thanks for your answer! I might not have been clear enough - But for example, if my Kubernetes control plane crash for any reason, will AWS help me to troubleshoot or we are on our own? Or the Pods are failing to stabilize due a CNI bug or something like that. Taking in consideration it's a Kubernetes issue and not a hardware issue.

  • Just to add on to this, AWS Enterprise On-Ramp Support is also an alternative support subscription now for Amazon EKS Anywhere. Enterprise On-Ramp is cheaper compared to the Enterprise Support.
