billing problem

good afternoon, I have a problem with an invoice that was issued for payment in the amount of almost 1000 usd ... I don't understand the reason why because I just followed a tutorial where I was informed that the service was free, and I choose the free option and disabled the scalability to not have to pay anything, I was informed by amazon that I didn't have to pay and now I received this bill to pay ??? I just followed the w3schools tutorial, I don't have a website online and I don't intend to have one for now, I'm just testing code and I only used the service because in the tutorial it says that they choose aws for the reason of having a free service for testing .... I don't have any active website, I just activated the free service .... I need help because I don't know what's going on .... im learning to code and that is why i used the service but it was supposed to be free .... plase cancel all payed services i dont want any , i didnt activate any of the payed services , just de free testing service

  • im not touching anything, please check it , there must be an error or problem ...please advise ...

I'd suggest reviewing the Cost Explorer for your account. Just because site says a service is under free-tier doesn't mean there isn't a potential for being charged. It's the customer responsibility to review usage and assure there's not charges being incurred. W3Schools is not an AWS site and can't make the guarantee of AWS not charging for services used.

You can always open a support case to AWS to ask for assistance on billing.

  • yers i know and i undestand that , but i didnt choose any payed services ...just followed the tutorial ... i used Elastic beanstalk and rds , and choose the free option , with no escalibility .... its free , right ?

  • i dont have that available (cost esplorer), like i said i only used that services from the tutorial , Elastic Beanstalk and rds , i didnt used any other ... im really not very happy with this ... how can i contact suport ?? cant find the link ....

  • ok thanks for the help ,i will contact support , maybe i made a error or clicked some link i didnt suposed to click , but if you check the tutorial , (Django) , its a simple app , that i didnt even finish , i didnt conect the app to the database , final step .... why would i even activate a cluster ( or whatever that is ) on that site?? it doenst make any sence ...
