No, Amazon associates do not have to be on the Amazon network to use AWS Skill Builder. AWS Skill Builder is designed to be accessible to both Amazon employees and non-employees.

However, there seems to be some confusion that can occur during the login process. If an Amazon associate is redirected to Midway Authentication (an internal Amazon system), this is likely an error. In such cases, the associate should look for an option that says "Sign in with a different option" or a similar prompt that allows them to access other login methods for non-AWS employees.

It's important to note that AWS Skill Builder uses Amazon.com account credentials for login, not AWS console credentials. This means that even Amazon associates should use their Amazon.com account (the one used for shopping on Amazon) to log into Skill Builder, rather than their internal Amazon credentials.

If issues persist, clearing browser cookies, trying incognito mode, or using a different network might help resolve login problems. In case of continued difficulties, contacting AWS support directly would be the best course of action.

If you're using your Amazon corporate credentials to log into SkillBuilder, then you'll need to use a device that is capable of using Amazon Midway authentication. This device can be off of the Amazon corporate network.
