Greengrass device logging online/offline?

Hello,  
  
I'd like to log information from an application running on a greengrass connected device (thing), how do I do that? currently we have a log file that the application writes, ideally greengrass would stream that when the device is online to cloudwatch or an s3 bucket?...advice would be appreciated.

Greengrass currently only supports uploading logs from Greengrass system and Lambdas to CloudWatch Logs.  
In your case, your application runs on a device which connects to Greengrass. You may directly use CloudWatch/S3 SDK in your application to upload logs. Or you can publish you application logs to an MQTT topic, and deploy a Lambda to listen on the topic and directly write to Lambda logs.
