TGW VPN Connection Availability Zones

Question

Hi,

By default AWS creates 2 tunnels per VPN connection. Is it possible to find out which availability zones are being used for each VPN tunnel.

Also is it possible to have VPN tunnels across more than 2 availability zones.

Answer

Just like it is shown in this [diagram for VGW](https://docs.aws.amazon.com/vpn/latest/s2svpn/VPNTunnels.html) (same applies for TGW as well) AWS VPN tunnel endpoints are in 2 different availability zones.  The AZ information is not available to the customer, as this is a managed service the tunnel endpoints (maintenance etc) is managed by AWS.
