Is Amazon S3 endpoint accessible from multiple VPC's?

Question

Customer has multiple VPC's and is looking to avoid creating an S3 endpoint in each VPC. Is there a way for transit gateway to allow cross VPC endpoint communication?

Accepted Answer

Amazon S3 uses Gateway Endpoints for which traffic has to be originated from the VPC itself and cannot be transitive. This Gateway Endpoint limitation is documented here: [https://docs.aws.amazon.com/vpc/latest/userguide/vpce-gateway.html#vpc-endpoints-limitations][1].
