SES Managed IP - Bounce Rates

Wondering if anyone is having success with using a managed IP address with their SES? We are getting around 6-9% bounce rate using the default IPs provided when sending via SES and am being told we are still paying for those bounced emails. I was just hoping to hear from others what kind of bounce rates are you seeing with managed IPs? We do not spam and only use the service for our bi-weekly newsletters. Thanks
