Aurora cluster DNS endpoint not found: 3(NXDOMAIN)

I've started to migrate my RDS Mysql (~40Gb) to Aurora about 5 hours ago
it's still migrating
there's no feedback on progress (in the same Migrating state since start)
the cluster endpoints while shown as Available, they were for a few minutes(couldn't log in though),
but now not even the endpoint DNS will resolve:
$ host ***.rds.amazonaws.com
******.rds.amazonaws.com not found: 3(NXDOMAIN)
Anyone seen this before?
Are you migrating RDS MySQL 8 to Aurora 3 (MySQL 8 comp.)? If so, I ran into this issue - that it hangs in the migrating state and never finishes. I opened a support ticket for it, but there was really nothing they could do, at least not in a timely manner. I ended up creating a fresh Aurora cluster and configuring binlog replication, very similarly to what is described here: https://docs.aws.amazon.com/AmazonRDS/latest/AuroraUserGuide/AuroraMySQL.Replication.html#AuroraMySQL.Replication.MySQL.
