IP addresses for instances spun up within AWS batch

Can AWS batch spin up EC2 instances that don't take up IPs used within the VPC specified for the compute environment? We are trying to figure out whether using AWS batch would be a way to spin up over 100 machines at once and avoid taking up all the IP addresses in our VPC.
