File Gateway AD Authentication

Does storage gateway in File mode support any AD domain to join/or is it dependent on MAD/AD Connector like fSX and other solutions?
i,e, over direct connect - can they just auth against On-prem DC, or a controller they manage in AWS vs one of our managed services?

Yes, Storage Gateway in File mode (SMB) supports use of on-premises Active Directory directly, or customer can choose to use Active Directory options in AWS (for e.g. EC2 based AD or AWS Managed AD)
