EC2 Instance gone away

Hi!

A couple things to try:

• If you are in console - check to see if you are in the same region you were previously. Sometimes when logging in, AWS will log you into a different region. This is typically in the top right corner (N. Virginia is us-east-1 for example).

• Check if your EC2 console is filtering on "instance state = running." You can remove this filter and search for all states. For more information about states, check out this page for instance lifecycle information: https://docs.aws.amazon.com/AWSEC2/latest/UserGuide/ec2-instance-lifecycle.html. Keep in mind you cannot stop a instance store-backed instance.

• Lastly, there is a difference between termination and stopping: https://docs.aws.amazon.com/AWSEC2/latest/UserGuide/terminating-instances.html

• If you're using CLI or AWS APIs, you can use the ec2 describe instances command: https://awscli.amazonaws.com/v2/documentation/api/latest/reference/ec2/describe-instances.html

Thank you, I checked with Global view also but it seem only one Instance left. I've just stopped the instance (Not terminate). Where did I go wrong?

You may want to go and check Cloudtrail using your Instance ID to see the latest APIs executed, if the Instance was indeed terminated, you can see what event and IAM Role which triggered the event.
