SageMaker Studio Internal DNS resolution

I am trying to pull some code from a private bitbucket repo that we have hosted locally in our server room. The private dns name cannot be resolved but sagemaker is able to resolve names such as google.com. The account has the proper resolver rules and such and I even built an ec2 instance in the same vpc and subnet as sagemaker and that ec2 instance was able to resolve the bitbucket domain name without any extra configuration.
