Redshift Endpoint Outdated

Question

I noticed that the endpoint associated with my redshift cluster is outdated. Currently it ends with the name of the database that I first created the cluster with, but I have since renamed that database and now the endpoint doesn't work anymore unless I manually change it. Is there any way to permanently refresh it to make sure it doesn't become outdated again?

In this case, you need to specify the new database by yourself.

I assume you want to change the "dbName" in the "Endpoint" displayed in Redshift console's "General information". Endpoint example:

my-cluster.xxx..redshift.amazonaws.com:/
# serverless
my-workgroup...redshift-serverless.amazonaws.com:/
```

The  is displaying the name of initial database when you create a cluster or a namespace and it cannot be changed after creation for both provisoned and serverless. Description for dbName is in following document and AFAIK there are no apis to update this.

Therefore, as you mentioned, the database name in the endpoint will be outdated if you alter or drop the initial database.
